Whether you’re new to our school or a longtime Powell Elementary School family, we want to provide the resources you need to achieve success.
This is a central hub for students and families to easily access information for navigating the school and school day, including enrollment, student handbooks, information about schedules, extra curricular activities, and more!
Enrollment
Powell Elementary School serves students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Enrollment hours for students who are new to the district are from 8:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. on full school days and during specified office hours in the summer months.
Enrollment for students who are new to the districts must be completed in person by a parent or legal guardian.
Daily Schedule
Powell Elementary’s school day begins at 7:45 a.m. Students arriving after this time are considered tardy and must check in at the front office. Dismissal begins at 2:45 p.m.
Students must attend for at least 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day.
After School Care
Shades of Development is our only on-site after-care provider, but several other organizations offer pickup and transportation to off-site programs.
Extracurricular Activities
Powell Elementary offers several after school and extracurricular opportunities for students. Students have the opportunity to expand their leadership skills and serve their school while meeting new friends.
Student Supports
The entire staff of Powell Elementary School is committed to establishing an atmosphere in which children will feel safe, secure, and happy so they maximize their opportunities to learn and achieve. The school has trained counselors and a social worker on staff.
Library / Media Center
Our library is a hub for student learning, reading, and discovery. In addition to the school library, teachers may maintain individual collections of age-appropriate books in their classrooms to support literacy and foster a love of reading.
Our School Support Organization
The Powell Elementary PTA is a collaborative group of parents, teachers, and school staff who work together to support the school community. They organize events, fundraisers, and activities to enhance students' educational experiences and foster communication between parents and school staff.
